LET’S GET STARTED…
Due in large part to the legalized marijuana laws and through word of mouth, CBD has been receiving some well-deserved attention. Although there is still continuous research being done on the molecule, the findings so far have been quite positive for numerous health concerns. CBD is non-synthetic and is a naturally-occurring chemical compound found in the cannabis plant.
CBD is short for Cannabidiol and is one of over 100 non-psychoactive plant cannabinoids compounds found in the Hemp plant. High in CBD, the hemp plants are compounds that are typically extracted from the plant using either CO2 or hydrocarbon extraction methods.
Common worries among those who are new to the plant based wellness and are considering using CBD, is the possibility of getting “high” due to its association with the hemp or cannabis plant. CBD is an entirely different compound than THC. Unlike tetrahyrdocannabinoid (THC), a cannabinoid primarily found in marijuana – CBD (Cannabidiol) does not produce any intoxicating or ‘high’ effects, meaning users can experience it’s incredible wellness benefits without disconcerting feelings. This includes CBD Isolate, CBD Full Spectrum, CBD Broad Spectrum and CBD/CBG products.
CBD has been thought to provide relief for a wide variety of ailments without being intoxicating to the human (or your pets) body.
Although still on-going, numerous scientific and medical peer-reviewed studies have been carried out on CBD.
There are many publications via magazines, news articles and online resources that can help you become more educated on the CBD revolution. PROJECT CBD is a great online source for CBD education. It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting the research progress on CBD. Project CBD updates doctors and patients on developments in cannabis science, therapeutics and more. https://www.projectcbd.org/about-pcbd
Prevention magazine is a healthy-lifestyle magazine that has published a special magazine dedicated to CBD specifically, and the most commonly asked questions.
The more you read and educate yourself, the more confident you will be in knowing if CBD is right for you.
While there are continuous studies being done on the possible health benefits of CBD, many consumers report that they feel relief and relaxation from using the natural plant-based medicine. Many consumers report that they use CBD products as a part of their daily health regime to help with chronic pain relief, sleep, mental focus and clarity, inflammation, gut-health, muscle recovery, depression, anxiety, stress, skin care such as acne and anti-aging. CBD also benefits your pets!
Plant cannabinoid compounds like CBD, align with the body’s own Endocannabinoid system (ECS) which is a biological system, a complex cell-signaling system discovered back in 1990s by researchers exploring THC. The ECS is believed to facilitate balance and response within one’s body, and is active in your body even if you do not use cannabis. Although research is still being done, we know the ECS works to regulate functions such as sleep, mood, appetite, memory and reproduction and fertility. You can check out this article by Healthline for more information on the ECS and CBD: https://www.healthline.com/health/endocannabinoid-system#how-it-works

Different plant cannabinoids
CBD Oils are enjoyed sublingually – under the tongue. This allows the CBD to dissolve and diffuse into your bloodstream through the thin skin tissue under your tongue. This is the quickest way to intake CBD, as you will notice the effectiveness within around 5 minutes and typically can last from 2-4 hours. When consuming CBD, the compounds spread throughout your body as it makes it way though the bloodstream, so for any chronic pain we always suggest to take CBD oil sublingually, AND, apply a topical skin cream or balm directly onto the source where you require relief ( legs, hands, back, neck etc..) – target from both the inside and out!.
You can enjoy CBD through treats eaten such as gummies. CBD gummies are a tasty and convenient way to keep your CBD handy if you are on-the –go and require relief throughout the day. Easy to consume and mess free!
When eating a CBD gummy, compounds have to go through your digestion system first so this means it may take longer for you to enjoy results usually 30mins +. Ingested CBD can provide results for 4-6 hours.
Topical CBD skin creams and skin balms are a great way to provide relief by targeting muscle and bone pain, inflammation, skin conditions and dry skin. Apply the CBD skin cream, oil or balm directly onto desired area (ex- hands, neck, shoulders, legs, back, head etc..) and ensure to massage the product in well so it penetrates though your skin to provide quick relief that can last hours.
Topical creams and balms do not enter the bloodstream, so the compounds stay where they are applied.
CBD has many potential benefits. It has been found to be anti-inflammatory and have great anti-oxidant power. Topical blends work in the area that they are applied to, which is a benefit for those who don’t want to ingest their CBD but want to enjoy its other potential benefits.
When it comes to CBD and how it interacts with skin, there are many ways in which consumers have found relief by adding topical care products into their wellness routines. The CBD interacts through the various endocannabinoid receptors that are found in the skin and binds to them, helping with the task at hand. Having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, the CBD cannabinoid was also shown to be. Healthline did a great article on CBD benefits when incorporated into skin care. There are links made with CBD improving acne, hydrating and skins elasticity. Take a look here: https://www.healthline.com/health/skin-disorders/cbd-for-acne
Yes! Just like humans, animals experience mood swings, anxiety, physically and emotional pain and stress due to sickness and aging. CBD can offer help to your animals and pets where pain, old age and stress lowers the quality of their life. CBD is an all-natural remedy to keep your pets healthy and happy. Your pets deserve the best, and we are here to make sure that happens. Kurativ Full Spectrum CBD pet oil is formulated with the same ingredients and care that is given to all of our products. The endocannabinoid system is present in all mammals. Your dog, cat, or horse will be thankful you chose Kurativ CBD!
Terpenes is a word that you will come across in the ingredients list of multiple CBD products. Cannabinoids and Terpenes are the major compounds that are throughout the cannabis family of plants.
Terpenes are common in hundreds of flowering and fruiting plants throughout the world. They are responsible for bringing the scents, or “notes”, of the individual plant. If you’ve experienced the relaxing scent of Lavender or enjoyed the uplifting feeling that comes with peppermint or eucalyptus, you’ve experienced terpenes.
THC-FREE hemp extract is also referred to as “CBD Isolate”. All of Kurativ’s white-labeled product options are THC –FREE. CBD is extracted and separated (isolated) from the rest of the plant material. What is left is an ultra-pure (99% +) crystalline powder containing 0% THC or other compounds. CBD Isolate blend is very popular for those who are new to CBD and prefer THC – Free CBD products.
Kurativ’s Full Spectrum products can be identified by the dark label. Full Spectrum CBD also knows as “whole plant” extract mostly contains CBD, but also includes minor cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN, CBC and a trace of THC which is 0.3% THC or less and is non-psychoactive.
Full Spectrum extracts are thought to be more beneficial (stronger) than extracts containing only CBD.
CBG (Cannabigerol). At Kurativ we offer Full Spectrum and Isolate blends with added CBG. CBG is a minor cannabinoid with major potential providing amplified/stronger effects when combined with CBD. There are early studies linking the compound to handful of potential therapeutic uses, such as:
- Treating glaucoma
- Decreasing inflammation
- Combatting Huntingdon’s disease
- Inhibiting tumor growth
